Colin BonusMr. Bonus obtained a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law and has been actively practicing law for over 30 years. Over the course of his lengthy tenure as an attorney, Mr. Bonus has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience, supplemented by advanced training in the realm of DWI defense. For example, Mr. Bonus is among the approximately 50 attorneys in New Jersey who are certified in the operation and maintenance of the Drager Alcotest 7110, the instrument used to determine blood alcohol concentration (BAC) in the vast majority of DWI cases. In addition, Mr. Bonus is among approximately 5 lawyers in New Jersey (20 nationwide) who are certified by the National Transportation Safety Administration in proper administration and evaluation of standardized field sobriety tests (SFST). In fact, Mr. Bonus is certified to serve as an instructor in these tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Generally, SFST’s are used to establish probable cause for DWI arrests, as well as to support DWI findings in the absence of scientific evidence. Due to Mr. Bonus’s unique expertise, he is regularly requested to speak at continuing legal education classes and is noted as one of the Ten Leaders in DUI Defense in New Jersey. Although he has countless DWI dismissals behind him, Mr. Bonus refuses to become complacent, vigorously pursuing new information in the realm of DWI defense and taking on the most challenging cases for his clients.
